If Defcon 1 is too hot for you, then you may want to back off and try Defcon 2, which has a really good pepper flavor. Just like Defcon 1 and Defcon 3, this is a great sauce for wings and seafood. The butter gives it a texture that other hot sauces don’t have, and it’s quite a refreshing difference. It has a pure cayenne flavor making it perfect for wings. I think that the sauce is better heated rather than room temperature or straight out of the fridge. In other words, it lends itself very well for cooking and not necessarily as a table condiment.
That’s not to say that you couldn’t. Tonight I added Defcon 2 to my hamburger and fries. Perfect!
